Our Managing Director, Ms. Jennicha or Khun Mind have got the opportunity to become a guest speaker to discuss the topic of “Innovation for Ecotourism Management” in one of the Master Degree class at Prince Songkhla University. The goal of this class is to explore on how innovation can contribute to sustainability and Eco-Tourism within hotel and tourism industry.
According to the University, this is the first time ever collaboration between the Engineer field and the Tourism field, hence the session attracted few other Professors and Doctorate Degree Candidates to join this online class.
During the discussion, Khun Mind raised the topic of Phuket crisis that has been ongoing long before the pandemic. The Red Ocean competition among hotels have made Phuket, especially Patong, suffered for decades. Later, she continued to share the class with strategies that we will implement to turn our upcoming project – “Patong Cottage Resort” into something different. Our goal is to compete using a Blue Ocean Strategy because price-cutting is not sustainable for the business nor the industry.
The new Patong Cottage project was assigned to be the case study for the students at Ajarn Issara class. Students and guests professors were very participative exchanging ideas with lots of useful information. Towards the end, students were instructed to come up with additional ideas to make our new Patong Cottage a truly sustainable hotel as their individual assignment. For any idea that is implemented by the board of Jp Collections will be rewarded!
